Mrs. Amanda Zimmerman-Tangorra
Your Teacher
Amanda obtained her teaching degree from James Cook University in Cairns, Australia, and she did an Honors graduate degree at Wilfred Laurier, Brantford. For the past 12 years, Amanda has been supply teaching in the Grand Erie District School Board and also taught in elementary and high schools in both Australia and Brazil. Amanda served as Director of Mohawk College, Brantford Campus and received the Faculty of Leadership award.
Amanda’s love for learning has continued throughout her career. She remains knowledgeable and current, employing the best teaching practices to promote student learning, and she is fully trained in the The It’s 4 Kids Schoolhouse Learning Framework.
Amanda is passionate about teaching students with special needs. She believes that every child can be successful once you determine their learning style. She has been instrumental in helping these students to read and write. Amanda has her Special Education Part 1 and her Behavior Management Systems (BMS) training. She has her updated First Aid and CPR training.
Amanda lives in Brant County. A former manager of the Brantford Family YMCA, she understands the social, physical, and emotional needs of families within our region. She knows that success in school not only affects a child’s academic performance but also their self-confidence and self-esteem. Amanda believes that a strong educational foundation will intrinsically motivate students and enable them to approach new learning situations independently, creatively, and confidently. Passionate about early learning, Amanda strongly advocates for improving the quality of services available to families
Amanda is thrilled to be teaching in beautiful Paris, Ontario. As the local owner and Director of Education at The It’s 4 Kids Schoolhouse, Amanda is also excited to be a new member of the Brant Family Literacy Committee. She is looking forward to sharing her knowledge of student learning with educators and parents to promote literacy within our community.
Amanda is grateful to the outstanding teachers, professors and fellow educators she has worked with throughout her career, all of whom have played a significant role in helping her to become the teacher she is today.

Amazing experience for my daughter. She was struggling in Reading and writing and Tammy did wonders. She Started at Level D and now is at Grade 3 level Reading. Thank you so much It’s for Kids for giving my daughter confidence and Helping her through her struggle of reading.
Tammy has designed her learning space to be a welcoming, comforting, nurturing space. This allows her students to feel relaxed and secure while they learn. Tammy is passionate about teaching. She is extremely experienced and brings unique techniques to the learning experience to benefit every child.

He woke up this morning and he went to some vocab words we have and just wrote them all in his book. No one asked him to. And he came to me and showed me. He had written 25 words or so down…” to practise his printing”.
He was reading others while eating his breakfast.I think he feels like he’s in some control and in being supported as so has helped his motivation.
My son’s reading has come such a long way in a few short months thanks to Amanda’s strategies and teaching style.Amanda encourages and shows the children that she believes in them so that they feel empowered to learn, and they learn to believe in themselves. Since beginning the program I’ve noticed an attitude shift and an increase in confidence while reading.Thank you so much for everything you do!
Can’t say enough for this program!! 8 weeks ago my son was missing 4 letters of his alphabet and could not read a single word. NOW, he knows his whole alphabet with sounds, can read 36 words and at a reading level 2. Completely AMAZING, his confidence is just brilliant!! Thank you Mrs. Tammy!!
Our daughter started at It’s 4 Kids in 2016, when she was in Grade 2. Without It’s 4 Kids our daughter would not be where she is academically. It’s 4 Kids has also helped our daughter build her confidence with learning
We have had a fantastic experience with Tammy from its 4 kids, our son went in with a level A reading level and has gone to a level E in a matter of a few short months. The program she has there is extremely effective, more effective then the program my sons school uses. We are really happy with all the progress our son has made. This is the place to go if your son or daughter need help with reading or writing and they offer math too
